Thank you !!!!

Thank you to Lorena Cardenas, Registered Nurse, past PNC Treasurer and volunteer on the PNC Citizen Health Committee, for her leadership and organization of the Covid Vaccine clinic held here in Piru yesterday. Lorena pulled together a great team of Piru volunteers for set up and tear down of all the necessary tables, chairs, and caution tape as well as doing the initial ask to Ventura County Public Health to get this vaccine event to our town ! Special thanks to JoAnn Torres, our Piru resident and Ventura County Public Heath Program Coordinator, who kept things running smoothly, thanks to Danny Ramirez, Ventura County Parks and Recreation Maintenance, and PNC Parks, Recreation and Public Works Committee volunteer , who facilitated Warring Park and all the park related supplies needed for this undertaking. Thanks to PNC Citizen Health Committee volunteer Irene Ruiz who represented the Piru Community and kept watch over things. Thanks also to Roy Ruiz Jr. PNC Lights & Sirens Committee volunteer who, along with Danny, directed traffic throughout the entire event. Thanks to Michael Lopez PNC Lights & Sirens Committee volunteer, and Manny Mendoza PNC volunteer Member at Large who both directed the 100’s of people in line. Oscar Mendez, PNC volunteer President , provided translation services at the registration stations, thank you Oscar ! There were many other volunteers who helped put up tables and chairs, later broke them down, the community volunteer spirit was high, many thanks to all of you. Lastly, on behalf of the Piru Neighborhood Council and the Community of Piru, we would like to extend hearfelt thanks to Ventura County Public Health, their administrative team, all of the skilled nurses, and EMT’s, for providing this opportunity for us and for working tirelessly in their chosen fields as essential workers. We appreciate you all so much.

Update : We heard from Ventura County that 406 were vaccinated. 136 were Piru residents who reported zip codes 93040/41. What a wonderful turnout !
