This year, we are also focusing on an area at the back of Warring Park off Orchard Street where we are clearing invasive growth that has blocked access to the Piru Creek. Volunteers with chain saws, or with a good pair of work gloves, are invited to come and participate in these fun work events. Lunch and hydration provided by the PNC.

Volunteers with the Piru Neighborhood Council transport the gifts from CHP Moorpark Station, then set-up and distribute the toys in coordination with the School administration, and often a visiting CHP Officer.
Health Fair
A new tradition that is being proposed by the Williams Homes Development in Main Street would be an Annual Health Fair to be held at the new Soccer fields. Event would focus on services provided to Piru residents. Event to also include food from local restaurants and Food trucks, entertainment, and other fun events.

The current owners of the Newhall Mansion have generously worked with the Piru Neighborhood Council and our cadre of volunteers to convert the rumored ghost occupied basement of the mansion into a scary maze that winds through the basement with surprises around each corner. The event, including games and snacks, and a growing number of trucks or Treaters setting up the the mansion parking lot is free to Piru residents. Visitors outside of Piru are encouraged to make a donation to help support this community event.
Picnic at the Piru Lake Family Park co-hosted by United Water and Piru Neighborhood Council
This event, which has taken place twice in the last 4 years is meant for an opportunity for community members to gather at Piru Lake for a hotdog cookout, and to hear about all the Park Services that are available to our community, and also updates on Piru Lake Dam improvements. It’s also a great time to socialize with neighbors and the United Water representatives. This is typically a fall event.
