SUMMARY:Celebrating Piru's starring role in the hit HBO Max series "Lanterns"
DESCRIPTION:The Piru Neighborhood Council invites residents and visitors to a special evening celebrating Piru’s role in HBO Max’s hit series Lanterns. In spring and summer last year\, downtown Piru was transformed into the fictional town of Rushville\, Nebraska\, complete with elaborate storefront facades\, set decorations\, and production activity that made this the one of the largest filming projects in our community’s history. Read more… \nNow\, we’re bringing everyone back to the original filming locations on Center Street for a community block party and outdoor screening of Episodes 1 and 2. \n\nWhen: Saturday\, August 29 from 6 PM\n\n\nWhere: Center Street / Main Street\n\nEvent Schedule \n\n5:00 PM – Center Street road closure between Main and Piru Square\n6:00 PM – Block party with music\, Corazon and the Inn are open throughout the evening\n8:00 PM – Outdoor screening of Lanterns Episodes 1 and 2 in the original filming location along Center and Main\nFollowing the screening – Music and community gathering continue\n\nGuests are encouraged to bring their own comfortable lawn chair or folding chair for the screening. \nRSVP Requested \nPlease RSVP in advance to help estimate attendance and plan accordingly. Mark yourself as “Interested” or “Going” (PNC’s Facebook Event). \nImportant Information for Families \nLanterns carries a TV‑MA (Mature Audience) rating for intense violence\, graphic crime scenes\, adult language\, mature psychological themes\, and depictions of substance use.
